Just a big THANK YOU to the Dodge City crew for the great tournament yesterday!! Overall, everything ran smooth and was well organized! After all the negativity I have read on the forum lately, I just wanted to say that I am PROUD to be a part of the Federation Wrestling Family! Southwest Kansas was showing their best yesterday-- from officials to coaches to wrestlers. There will always be questionable calls and lots of tears--but for the love of the sport we keep coming back! As parents, we all do what WE can to better our kids.... For some that may be going to all the big out of state tournaments, while others scramble to get to the local ones. Some drive hours to get to practice while others struggle to get one kid to ballet practice and four grouchy boys to wrestling down the street (me
) We are all just doing our best for our kids! And NO parent is wrong for doing so.
I love seeing my boys wrestle...but it really warms my heart when I see them a few minutes later paling around with the kid that they just wrestled from another town (win or lose) they have made a friend, not on Xbox live, but on the mat! So thanks to Dodge City for the great tourny and for the hospitality. Scott and crew you guys did it right! (I loved the fruit baskets for the table workers!)
