After purchasing a D1 District t-shirt toward the end of the day in Olathe, I took the shirt to my son and asked him to go put it in his wrestling bag.

He was standing behind the scoring table of a mat in the 2nd gym where it was pretty congested. He said "wait dad, look who's wrestling, its Dulgarian and Hensley". Sure enough, there they were just starting their championship match.

Needless to say, I was immediately sucked in as were many other parents, wrestlers, coaches and volunteers; friends of parents, wrestlers, and coaches; medical and security personnel; and I would not be surprised if the paparazzi was even stalking this one.

It was a show stopper for sure. This was a magic show. This was a chess match. This was beast against beast, tactician against tactician, stud versus stud, power versus power, speed versus speed, counter versus counter, and agility versus agility. In the end, a 1-0 decision, this was an action packed match that resulted in a break out of applause from all who viewed it.

This wasn't the only great final I saw yesterday. Another was Tristan Star going against Adam Cole which had to be decided in OT. Another fantastic match.

What were some of the best finals matches you watched yesterday at the District you attended?

Dang rockytop,

Looks like your nephew had a heck of a battle just to get there. Any 2-OT 1-0 win to get to the finals is just as impressive. Great job by T-Snow Man.

Mat 2 had a TON of awesome matches, I think there were only like 2 pins there all day! District 2 looks STRONG for the 8U as well as the rest - GO DISTRICT 1!!!

On a personal note, I want to wish the Best to Wil, Daigan, Clayton, and Drew for 8U 64lbs - you make us proud!
