What do you mean? Since you ask I will elaborate. Is it o.k. to tape other wrestlers in your weight when they are wrestling someone besides yourself? In my opinoin, it is ridiculous and tasteless. I have watched two different mothers the past two weekends tape my nephew when he was wrestling someone besides their sons.

Gamefilm? Isn't that for football? Is he losing? You tell me? The other mother has a son he beat a couple times during the year. She also has a younger son coming up. If you're that good of wrestler, you shouldn't have to study your opponents so closely. TACKY!!!!!!

Oh my god!!! Filming illegal by high school rules, you must be out of your minds! It is completly legal to film however you want to whenever your want to. Correction, a good wrestler will always study their opponent! I encourage my kids to watch thier opponents so they know how to win if they should face them. I can't beleive anyone would say something so crazy as you can't or shouldn't film your opponents, im just goign to end here becuase this doesn't even derserve a response.

Sorry Richard,
I think you interpreted that rule wrong. What that last sentence of that rule meant is that you can't use video tape to review a call made by an official during a match(competition). In other words if Jonny get a questionable takedown at the edge of that mat his dad or chaoch can't stop the match, show the official the tape and say change your mind. This rule doesn't pertain to filming an opponent and then watching it before or after his match during a day of competition. Hope this clears up any misunderstandings.

I video just about all my son's matches- AND some of his toughest (seemingly unbeatable) opponents. I tape mostly just to have as a keepsake to remember these years in the kids club. If it weren't for our wonderful coach taking the time to review some of my son's toughest matches on video (as well as his toughest opponents) and using that to teach him the techniques at practice that he needs to beat those opponents the next time....we probably wouldn't be going to State this weekend. As it stands, we're Topeka bound. Tapes (or "Gamefilm" if you want to call it that) are excellent sources of training for these young wrestlers. It's great for them to be able to watch themselves (or their opponents) and have coaches "show" them exactly what they're doing right and wrong. Knowing your opponent and having a "strategy" has helped my son tremendously this year. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's just a good way to learn.

Actually, at least in the state of Kansas, I don't believe at the high school level coaches can go to a game or tournament that they are not involved in and videotape, in any sport...
In football, for example, teams just trade game film...A coach can go scout a team they are playing in the future, but they can't film the game...
Now, that doesn't mean a parent could go tape someone or a team for their personal use, but if a coach were to view that tape, it would be illegal (but who is going to find out?)
In my humble opinion, however, I find it very disturbing that people feel they have to tape their child's opponent to scout them...For college, maybe even high school age kids, that's fine, but for the younger ones, those junior high and younger, I find it appalling...These are KIDS...Let them just go out there and wrestle and do the best they can...A younger kid isn't going to learn squat from watching a scouting tape of a younger opponent...Get a life!

Don't get me wrong...I'm not against videotaping your own kid's matches for your personal viewing pleasure, or so he/she can learn from their mistakes...I'm just against taping your kid's opponents...I just think that's taking things a bit too far...

Im sorry Richard,
I thought you were stating that as thought what I had said was wrong. If you were just stating then more power to you. My bad.
