NO! He did not wrestle at the Eagle Invite. I'm not sure who the L. Hayes is in the results but it is not Luke.

Spader got beat this weekend at Eudora by Himpel Himple looked very tough. He is a big 120 pounder and works very well with his legs. He still couldn't get past Dulgarian, but I am not sure many wrestlers will. Konitzer wrestled Dulgarian a tough match losing 0-3 I believe. The 120 bracket at Eudora was pretty nasty, but the 126 pound bracket was a beast. I also agree with badbo, Hood was on his game at this tournament.

Kevin Arnhold had two wins over Ben Lightfoot last year at state, and is under him in the all class rankings. Just a thought.

I got a quick question why does Kansas not have a single state championship where the top 3 in each weight class from each region go to the final state championship??

Because that would screw Chief out of the opportunity to get his a$$ chewed on for not ranking someone's kid high enough. They would actually have a tourney to see who the best in the state was, and Chief would be out of work. He gets paid to do that All Class Rankings I'm pretty sure, can't imagine him going thru the grief for nothing.............But I heard Cokeley was recruiting him to SJA for the principal job..........

I notice Anthony Monares has finally received his props for all the hard work he has been putting in. He is ranked 8th in All Class and looks like that would place him 3rd in 5a.
When will the individual classes be updated?

I've been thinking the same thing. They could have it after the State Tournament and call it "All Class Championships". Take the top two finalist or even the top four from each class 6a down to 1a. Have them compete for the "All Class Kansas Championship". That would be a HUGE money maker for the school system who claims we are soooo...broke. The money get divided by all the schools who are represented. Why not?????

It's called Grand state and they had it for two years back in like 75/76. There have been several proposals to bring it back since and all of them were voted down by KSHSAA. There were even some unofficial tournaments held in the 80's but they were not supported by the schools, and not all the kids came, kept in training, etc.
Great idea, would love to see it, but for whatever reason KSHSAA won't allow it. Overflows into track, I don't know...

Its seems better than having 6 state champions what kind of credit is that for college to say I was a state champion with 5 other guys.. in TN we had 13fun teams in a region and 8 different regions and top 3 in each weight class went to state only 2 weight classes each year the top 4 got to go.. I was region champion but no state champion but if I was in ks that would be considered a state champion.. it seems easier here to me...
