We will be hosting the open and Novice on the same day. There will be a team trophy, fastest pin, sportsmanship award all in the open division. In addition, trophies for 1st place in each weightclass/age division and medals for 2, 3rd, and 4th.

We are using trackwrestling this year and plan to have a well organized, well run tournament.

8:30am: Coaches Meeting 9:00am: Wrestling Begins
Satellite Weigh-in Sites will be available (Contact Coach Lane if you wish to host a satellite weigh-in)
NOTE: All wrestlers must weigh-in wearing a competition singlet!

RULES
This is a sanctioned tournament with USA Wrestling and USA Wrestling-Kansas. KSHSAA as modified by USA Wrestling-Kansas Kids rules. Certified Officials will be used.
NO WEIGHT CHANGES ALLOWED! Wrestlers must make weight. Please inform wrestlers and parents!! You may only enter in ONE Age Group and ONE Weight Class!

BRACKETING: We will use round robin and 8-man scramble format brackets. We reserve the right to combine weight classes within an age group. Please rate each wrestler by ability use the lettering system below:
A. State Qualifier/Placer B. Excellent (usually places 1st or 2nd)
C. Good (usually places 3rd or 4th) D. Average (lst/2nd Year Novice if 6 & Under)

AWARDS: Trophy to 1st place, Medals to 2nd, 3rd, 4th places. Fastest Pin Plaque in Each OPEN Age Division!

BREAKFAST: Breakfast will begin serving starting at 6:30 am.
CONCESSIONS: Concessions offered throughout the day
DRINKS & COOLERS: WILL NOT be allowed in the gym! PLEASE inform your wrestlers and their parents!
GATE: $1 per person. Coaches with USA Wrestling Card and Wrestlers admitted free! -
Fredonia SEK-Classic Club Championships
This is a new feature of the Fredonia SEK Classic, and we are going to try it. We borrowed the idea from Burlington who borrowed the idea from Kid's Club Tournaments that are held in Wisconsin, where they have Club Championship competitions that all the clubs can compete for regardless of the size of their club. The idea is simple. Each club will designate TWO wrestlers in each Age Division that will score team points for their club. So from your club you will designate TWO wrestlers in each of the age divisions: 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 & Under. These Wrestlers will earn team points for your club based on-their placing in their respective brackets with 14 points for first, 10 for second, 7 for third and 4 for fourth. The top three clubs with the most points at the end of the tournament will win a trophy for your club. In case of a tie for one of the top three spots we will use the following tiebreaker criteria:
1. Most Individual Champions
2. Most Pins
3. Most Wins
4. Fewest Losses.
These criteria will apply only to the 10 wrestlers competing for the Club Championship.
CLUB DIRECTQRS: Please designate on your entry form the two wrestlers in each age division that you are going to have competing for your club in the Club Championships. Put a STAR or an ASTERIK out in front of their names on the Entry Form. These wrestlers can be changed prior to or in the Coaches Meeting. However, after the Coaches Meeting, these designated wrestlers can not be changed regardless of the situation! The trophies will be presented to the Club Coaches or Club Leader at the conclusion of the tournament.

The Club Championships applies to wrestlers in the Open Tournament Only! Minimum of 5 Open Wrestlers to Compete in Club Championships!! Wrestlers entered in the Novice Tournament cannot score team points.
Sportsmanship Award
Based on the conduct and actions of your Wrestlers, coaches and fans. This award is selected by the Tournament Officials. Please Share the Importance of this Award with everyone in your club!

We have already received some entries which is great news. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 61 Fredonia, Ks. 66736 for those wishing to mail their payments or coaches/directors may bring payment with them.

Made some adjustments to the registration today and I have things more user friendly for those clubs that don't have their USA cards yet. Also the separation criteria (ratings) is now on the registration page.

We added an Oklahoma team today with a few good wrestlers.

Registration is due by Wednesday night.

Anyone in the Oklahoma area that would like to attend a satellite weigh-in Alan Grantham will do one in Snyder, Oklahoma from 6-8 His contact is 580-682-0623.

We just want to say thanks to all those that weighed in and entered their kids for our tournament. Although today wasn't perfect it went well, we started early and were done early as well. We learned some things and look forward to hosting again next year. Thanks to all of our helpers as well. It was a good early season tournament.
