Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School What makes a great Regional Tourn?

Hi guys. What makes a great HS Regional wrestling tournament. What hints and words of advice do you have to share? What music do you want played? Concession stand items? Atmosphere? Anything you think of.

A web page with updated results is a nice thing to provide to the fans.

That might be the best answer, and it was the first. Tough act to follow. Great suggestion Coach Whisnant.

Lots of kids never place at state but work just as hard, so just making it to state is very special to them. So doing everything you can to make that accomplishment feel that much better would be great. Remember it's all about the kids

im pretty sure that is at all regionals tournaments. not getting smart but he is lookin for something that will make the tournament more fun to be at

In my opinion though good variety of music and not a so high priced concession stand.

So, What I was wanting to say is --- highlight this round. Get the fans into the moment.

It is not Just a wrestle back session. It is a trip to State

Unlikely heros and some times great disappointment.

Keep the suggestions coming. We often learn more from our failures than our successes. With that in mind......what have you seen happen at a Regional wrestling tournament that you thought was a complete failure? Have you ever been at a bad regional tournament? Why was it bad? What did the organizers do wrong?

If you know enough to ask question, that's all you need to know.

Definantly during the semi's and con semi's have 2 mats semi side and a cons side and let people know that its the start of these rounds.

Getting the state to use Trackwrestling for all the fans to see what is going on.

Spotlight for finals, smoke machine and strobe lights for introductions. DUH! lol=)

Start on time, dont start early otherwise the fans of your light weights will be angry.

Updated results online is a must!! One year they didn't have them and it makes it hard to keep up when a person has to work on Friday and want to see how the kids are doing.
