I like it. It is very much true, and there are a lot of very good wrestlers that excel in the classroom.

Maybe there ought to be two lists. Senior wrester of the year and Senior wrestler of their career.

Another question -- How many kids have won state at 135 or above as a freshman or sophmore?

If this goes purely by the senior year, its hard to argue against Luke Bean. Pinning every kid in the first period at state is pretty impressive. All kids are great wrestlers but Bean was flat out dominating. He only gave up escapes this year.

Luke Bean is an animal no doubt. Alex and Brandon are awesome as well. All very deserving. Bo had a great year as well and we are just thankful all wrestling has given him as I am sure the other families are for their kids. I don't worry about who gets the 5a wrestler of the year, because all the kids mentioned are awesome.

Bo did have a banner year again for his 4th state title. He was 44-0 with one forfeit. So in the other 43 matches he wrestled he won all but 4 all year by a major decision or more. He majored the 4a state champ, beat a 3x Oklahoma state champ, and had 11 pins and 18 Techs. He finished in the top 10 all time in techs and 3pt near falls. He won his first two state titles giving up at least 15 pounds, and the last two years he was 82-1.

Whatever awards now come his way are great. I will say in all honesty though if they go to one of the other young men, they have earned it. Great job to all.

Well said Mike. I am very honored that Ky is even mentioned with this class of fine wrestlers. I to am just thankful wrestling has helped Ky became the young man he is. He had a great career going 140-8 and being a 4X state placer and winning it this year. Although his wrestling career over I feel wrestling will help him continue to reach his goal of making it on the football field.

Agree that Kansas has some very top notch wrestlers. Good luck to all that will be representing the state in the upcoming national tournaments. It would be great to have a number of All Americans!
