Why does Kansas Kids Wrestling have a Sub District Tournament? looking at all the Groups and weights I do not see any need for 2 weeks to narrow it down to 4 wrestlers. Most weights have less than 16 wrestlers (a lot less) in there districts. Now if you look out West it is surly a waste of time and money to take two weeks to narrow the field down to 4 wrestlers. Now I do see a few groups of wrestlers in the 8U and 10U and under age groups that could fall into a 32 man brackets, butt can't they work through that bracket in 1 day? Moreover it seems like a lot of time and money to do this for 2 weeks when the numbers just don't justify it. Plus I here all the conversation in regard to satellite weigh ins, wouldn't this help with that issue as well? IMO. I would like to here others.

Joe, This would help with the travel expenses but HS rules (I beleive) states no one will wrestle more than 5 matches per 24hours. Even a 16man goes over that, we seen it plenty of times in HS wrestling this year. 32 man would be next to impossible. I also beleive that everyone has a bad day (sick) so it is good to have a 2 day qualifing series. Out West does have a lot of travel that could be taken care of with satellites, with certified people.
