The district one meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn at the south side of Olathe on October 21st 2012. All District One clubs are required to attend per our by-laws that were vote on last fall. You may review the by-laws at USAWKS.com/Kids/District 1/Bylaws
The meeting will start at noon but you are welcome to come a little early so we can get registrations done and get the meeting started on time. You will need to park on the south side of the building and enter there. As most if you already know I will not be a candidate for your District Director for the upcoming years I have chosen to start spending more time with my 3 and one on the way grand kids and more traveling with my lovely wife. I am truly going miss you all but I will be keeping track of the happenings that go on. I want to thank all of you for supporting me and all the help I have received from so many of you. I think our district is the best district in the state and that is only a reflection of the clubs and competitors in it. I have been very proud to be part of it and I know you will all continue to strive to make wrestling better not only in our District but the whole State.

I am going to nominate Joe Knecht as your next District 1 Director. As most of you know he definitely has a passion and determination to make wrestling its very best. Rather it being teaching the track wrestling system or coaching on the mat Joe always has been willing to help all that has asked for his guidance. I hope you all accept my nomination of Joe as your next Director because I know he will lead you to bigger and better things years down the road.

I am attaching the address to the hotel for your convenience.

See ya all on the 21st

I met a gentleman on Wednesday by the name of Dan Henry. We had a very interesting conversation, mostly about wrestling. We knew some people in common although it was likely twenty-five years ago. It just goes to show you that our world is kind of small.

I don't know who else is going to be on the ballot, but district 1 can't go wrong with Joe Knecht. The sport needs more people like him....definitely dedicated to the betterment of Kansas wrestling. He would make an excellent director.

The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.
