He split with gates in december but greenbaun was a recent win. He is 25-4 and deserving of a ranking. His body of work is good his tournament placings have been 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 4th at Newton close losses to Grand island Nebraaska kid and colvin from Leavensworth, 1st at Blue Valley NW and Garden City is tomorrow. He is a state medalist and like I said at this point desrves to be in all class rankings.

OMG, do my eyes deceive me? Not one 4A team in the rankings and just seven 5A teams. Are you kidding me? doug747 and all the other 4A cronies must be having a melt down right about now.

Also good to see Ogden back in the rankings. I was going to say, if Ogden is not ranked then 152 has to be the toughest weight. Still could be even with him ranked and still think he is under ranked. What happened to Denton? Becker beasted at Chanute I see.

See that Edwards paid Hurtado back and we can expect a super rubber match at regional and maybe even at state. Who will win when it counts most? Hope Hurtado gets healthy. Best wishes to both great wrestlers.

Great to see Jack Mitchell and Davis Matthews in the rankings. Some how I knew they would eventually find their way there.

What about 120? Getting crazy huh. So Cokeley has beaten Mies twice now. How do you figure that one out? Have you settled that? What about 5A? Crazy huh. With Phillips in there it is getting down right nasty.

I don't know how long ago it was, but I posted how nasty 5A is this year. Just remember, I'm always jacking with you. Even if not a single 4a kid had won a match against a single 5a kid this year, I'd still razz you.........

I'd really like to see a Garden City - SJA dual...I think these two are an even coin flip for #2 behind Ark City. In two common tourneys GC has outperformed SJA.

Thanks for those who do the work for this site - allowing us 'lurkers' to follow and enjoy.

The Hensley's boy's did not go to the Garden City Tournament . Both would have scored a bunch of team points ( 113 & 126 ).

When considering the competition both the #1 and #2 wrestlers have come up against at the 170# weight class (toughness of tourneys), and Bryant being a returning state champ, what criteria does Jarod have over Bryant? Just wondering how that works.

Candy and nuts....was SJA full at the KC Stampede?...I still beleive its a wash between the two, and would be quite exciting to watch.

I think if Hurtado doesn't ring his bell - his adv points and the 'others' missing from SJA probably puts both teams around 165 or so...

Curious why you'd split your team given the level of competition.

Regardless - the RW Invite is a great event and brings back memories.

It was a student athlete decision. Going to GC had them missing two days of school. Staying at SMN tourney, they didn't miss any.

It certainly is a tough one!

Part of the separation is that Jared Johnson is a Fargo AA and beat Bryant two times at Greco state in what I believe was their only matches they have wrestled. Jared has beaten Gavin Grater three times this year and will have to go through a very tough Wuthnow to claim a title. Having said that Bryant is having an awesome season. I am sure this match could go either way. I hope they both make the All-Class Dual teams! They can settle the issue in the mountains on March 17th!

I hear ya, and Jarod is really good on his feet, and has a great headlock. But Greco Roman is only going to high light the skills of the man with the best throws and upper body moves. I think if anything Freestyle would be closer to folkstyle when comparing wrestlers in the folkstyle style.

Even with all of the injuries Newton is dealing with and still placing 3rd at Garden City we can seem to catch any love.

The rankings can not compute HEART. Newton makes me nervous. They shouldn't win on paper, but we aren't wrestling on paper.

The matches are wrestled on the mat and then recorded on paper.

Ark City is favorite as I have said before but let it not be forgotten that Newton edged out garden city twice at newton and garden city. They lost hurtado early in tournament but Newton missing mceachern(3rd and 5th at state)and monares (4th at state)both on pace to return 152 and 113 starters also did not make trip due to injuries and they are now back. Just saying we scored 142.5 and would have scored much more definitely over 165.I believe 142.5 is the lowest tournament total Newton has had all year. Anyway should be an awesome race Ark City,St.James,Newton and a lot of good teams in top ten that will make a difference in who wins.
