The Jr. Viking Capital City Challenge will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 this year. We will again have OPEN brackets for 6U, 8, 10, 12 and 14 divisions and NOVICE brackets for 8, 10, and 12 divisions (all novice brackets will be round robin format). This will be a trackwrestling event and we will be utilizing the trackwrestling clocks. We will wrestle on no less than ½ mats. The Jr. Viking Wrestling Club would love to be your host the first weekend in January!

I hope everyone has had a great December of wrestling. I would like to remind you all that registrations are open in www.trackwrestling.com for the Capital City Challenge hosted by the Jr. Viking Wrestling Club at Seaman High School in Topeka, KS on January 6th. We are planning a great event. A few high lights about our tournament.

1) We will have Open brackets for 6U, 8, 10, 12, and 14 divisions
a. Brackets for the 8, 10, 12, and 14 divisions will be grouped utilizing RR and 8-man double elimination format (best fit)
b. Brackets for the 6U division will be grouped utilizing RR format only

2) We will have Novice brackets for the 8U, 10, and 12 divisions
a. All novice brackets will be grouped utilizing RR format only (ALL NOVICE WRESTLERS WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL)

3) We will wrestle on 10 surfaces (7 circles divided in no less than ½ mat each)

4) We will allow home-site weigh ins as long as home sites agree to our weigh in policies

5) We strive to start on time and finish by mid-afternoon. We have a great concessions and large common area for parents and fans to spread out with plenty of elbow room.

This tournament is a great way to start 2013…we very much look forward to being your host. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
