I don't know if anyone else saw that Jack Pinto, 6 one of the children killed in Newtown was a member of the Newtown Youth Wrestling Association. It shows on the clubs twitter that Jack loved wrestling! I didn't know if there is anything we (Kansas Wrestling) could do to show our support for Jack. Hays Wrestling Club will be meeting tomorrow and I will see what our club would like to do.

Rossville Wrestling Club would also participate - just let us know what is decided. We have a tournament on 12/29 so would be more than happy to honor Jack some how.

At the least, we would like to send his family a tournament champion tee-shirt and a gold medal.

I contacted the Club Director of the Newtown Wrestling Association, Chris Bray and discussed what the wrestling community might do for Jack. It appears there will be a scholarship set up in memory of Jack Pinto that will be given to a senior wrestler in Newtown on a yearly basis. Based on this, the Hays Wrestling Club will be donating $250 towards the fund. Also, Thomas More Prep- Marian Wrestling (Josh Peterson) will be donating $1 for every entry at the Monarch Novice Tournament this weekend. They had 195 entries last year. I have had some response from the Kansas Wrestling community to help out. It would be nice to show our support for a wrestling family considering what they must be going thru.

I am going to create a scholarship donation box to display at our Rossville Holiday Classic tournament being held tomorrow.

Brian - can you send me your address so I can mail the donations we receive to you?

I have also created a tournament tee-shirt with Champion on the back and a gold medal to send along with the donations that we receive tomorrow as well.
