Just wondering how many teams put lifting weights in their practice time. Alot of the better teams the wrestlers seems much stronger than others teams.

What do coaches think is best now days for their team, cut as much weight as possible for a wrestler and have them in a lower weight class or have them come in a certain weight and have them be able to lift and gain strength. I remember in the old days it was all about getting to the lowest weight class you can get to, It don't seem like that the case for all teams anymore.

Genetics. What a team does during the season or even before the season, is not enough to notice physically in the appearance of the participants. Weightlifting, or even bodybuilding, has to have a dedicated time of a couple hours a day, 4 to 5 days a week, and a couple of months before there is noticeable physical changes. With most wrestlers losing weight and having poor diets, most weightlifting during the season is not very beneficial.

The best strength training for wrestlers, is wrestling!
