This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Raise your hand if you would go to a football game or basketball game where they put the score up on the scoreboard every 2 hours or so, or perhaps not at all. That is what happens at most tournaments throughout the state, including the 321A state meet. Team scores should be updated in public view every few minutes! If you run a tournament and do not keep score you should not be allowed to run a tournament and should be publicly flogged with basketballs.
Do our sport justice and post the scores. There, I feel all better now!!!

Well said Coach LaMar. With today's projection technology, it is not difficult to update the team score at the end of each round and match-by-match during the finals, especially if there is a tight team race!!

Without team scores we could be confused with soccer!

I'm always impressed with the team score keeping at the Beloit Invitational. No fancy technology...just a gentleman almost constantly up and down a ladder to slide the placards around. I really enjoyed watching the team battle between Plainville and Colby throughout last weekend.

And, I second the motion for public flogging with basketballs!

I have asked for the past several years at the 5a 6a tournament to have team scores updated on a regular basis.

The first year I was told they did not have time to update the team scores. Arrg.

They have done a little better last year. But it could be so much more.

Another item that could be posted on the walls would be teams score with number of athletes on the front side/ back side.

Updating scores between rounds should be the minimum goal. I would prefer digital updates that are fairly current during rounds, but I also understand that won't happen at many tournaments. Tournament directors, shoot for the moon. It will likely build on the anticipation of the fans and boost the volume in the building for each match.

The bob kuhn tournament in hays was awesome. They do it on computer pretty much right after each match.

In this day and age, I think that is how it should be.

I agree. If we can put a man on the moon, team scores should be updated match by match. Just don't put me in charge.
