I think their talking more in general terms. Not talking about anyone tournament. The loser from the Championship match wrestling the winner from the backside for 2nd & 3rd place. Sounds good to me.

I am mainly talking about the State Tournament, as when we go dist 1 against 2 and 3 against 4 for instance, alot of times the championship is wresteled in the semi finals match, this is really unfair for the kid that got 3rd, when he/she is actually the 2nd best wrestler in the state.

I also realize that the 2nd place finisher, is down, but all the national tournaments have a challange, and the wrestler has to be ready for the next challange, that is just part of our great sport. Why can't we have a challange at state? Lets make it a true second!

I would really like to hear feed back on this issue from members of our state board like comments from Mr. Juby or Mr. Grater, as they do a fine job running our kids programs and it would be nice to hear there opinions.

I agree that in some of the bigger tournaments, including state, that the seeding is not as good as it should be. Sometimes a fluke at districts will place a wrestler higher or lower than they truly should be, but I think they do the best they can with what they have to work with. If there was a challange for 2nd, it would not leave any doubts in anyone who should be placed 2nd.
