I am very proud of my son for winning his 99th, 100th and 101st matches today. It seemed like a no brainer at the start of the season when he only needed 19 to make it to 100, but after missing two 2-day tournaments and a dual which cost him about 13 matches, it was getting down to the wire. Number 100 was the win to get him to his fourth straight State Tournament. Great job Bear!

Congrats to Garrett! It has been a pleasure watching him wrestle over the past 4 years, although he has gotten the best of my LV boys on a few occasions Good luck to him and the rest of the Lawrence team this weekend!!

Thanks Coach Bode. As you know, none of his Ws against your wrestlers came easy including the 3rd/4th place match at the Sunflower League Tournament against Hill. We had one of those really good dad/son moments after that match when I told him that it was a good deal he wouldn't have to face him (Hill) ever again. He laughed and said that the same thought came across his mind right after the match ended. That was some darn good wrestling from both wrestlers and came close to stroking me out a couple of times. Good luck to your squad this weekend.

Actually Troy, Gabe won their only high school match a couple of years ago at the Challenger. Garrett's two wins came on the Kids' circuit their 8th grade year. Those were all toughly contested matches.

Congrat Garrett. Lee did you realize that there will be 4 young men in Wichita this weekend with ties to Belleville? 5A - Deterding, 6A - Girard, Ostrom, and Stindt.

John,
I did know about all four. That is pretty neat. I do feel bad for Bruce though since he has been out of town on business and missed Regionals and will also miss State.
