Will,

There is little "transparency" in the process - Each year someone is frustrated that their guy did not make the cut.

Often it is that the wrestler said, "not interested". Other times a decision had to be made base on critera - Who knows?

I believe the group- who ever that is - makes an effort.

Maybe you need to ask to be on that group Will!

that is the strangest of the weight jumping around

I like the kid that didnt make weight at 132 signed up for 126.

So much for the theory that we have a 7 lb weight allowance to allow the kids to not have to cut weight for this event.

Why weigh in at all?

Perhaps some past match up results have swayed the decision of whether to compete or not?

I thought the rule was that you could only move down ONE weight class. Matt is a light 170 to begin with.

Last year we put a 138lber out against a 160lb state champ that was perhaps the best wrestler in Missouri and maybe top ten in the country. Don't accuse us of being wrestling experts! smile

back in the day,
I was told he didn't make weight, so maybe I shouldn't have posted that comment and just marked him as DNP. I'm sure if my information is incorrect, I'll hear about it soon enough.

Not sure what happened to him at state this year, but he's gotten 1st, 2nd & 3rd at state in HS, and was the a prohibitive favorite to win this year. Not sure how he's gonna make "126" if he has weight issues, but...

I was surprised to see his name in the first release.

I would imagine that it is injury related. He was sidelined most of the seasons. He is a gutsy young man. Came back in time for regionals.

Seth decided to back out of this event in order to focus on his school work. He mentioned that he has many things to work on and wants to make sure he receives the best grades possible on them. He is driven to continue his wrestling and academic career at the college level and wants to provide himself with the best possible chance of getting accepted. Best of luck to Team Kansas and Caleb Ward who will be talking Seth's spot.

Caleb is tough and wrestled the whole season. KS should be adequately represented.

Team Kansas has been selected and had their first practice tonight! All members need a USAW card before the meet!! Clubs can help us out by insuring that they have theirs.

By the way, the committee is delusional!! (but we are medicated)

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?
