Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Freestyle/Greco Southern Plains Camp 2015

The 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle and Greco Wrestling Camp will be held May 26th-29th on the campus of Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. This camp will serve as a technique/training camp for the Southern Plains Regional Tournament in Dodge City, May 29th-31st. While the main emphasis will be on the Olympic styles, most techniques and positioning shown will be fully transferable to improve athletes folkstyle wrestling for years to come. Do we have the particulars about pick up time in Topeka? Just wanting to know so I can plan when I need to have Isaiah at the pick up spot. Thanks. Also, how many changes of clothes will they need? Will they need money, snacks?

I am ironing out the transportation schedule as we speak. There are 8 training sessions during the camp from tuesday-friday morning. We expect the athletes to have clean gear for each of those. There are opportunities to do laundry at the dorms in Hays. The meals are provided from Tuesday until Friday at the dorms in Hays, following that, all meals are on the athletes. If the athlete needs snacks or extras, I suggest that they bring spending money, but it is not mandatory.

Will the kids who attend the camp stay in the DCCC dorms when they arrive in dodge city? If so, are there any extra rooms available for kids who didn't attend the camp?

Yes, those athletes will be. I am still making arrangements for those attending camp, and those still signing up. There may be a possibility for that, but as of now, I can not confirm that there will be.
