Coaches are required to complete a background check every two years. Before issuing a current coaches' card, your club will require you to provide proof that you have passed the background check. The cost of the background check is $15. Here are the instructions on what you need to do to complete your background check:

Go to www.usawmembership.com.
Sign in or create a new account.
Click 'Profile' in the upper right corner of the screen and choose 'BG Check History' near the top of the screen. Please note that you will be required to use a different user id and password in the background check website - do not try to use your USA Wrestling user id and password.

After completing the background check, do not attempt to purchase a membership online. This feature is disabled for Kansas coaches.
After the background check is complete you will receive an email notice indicating whether or not you have successfully passed the background check. Provide this confirmation notice to the club director, who will then be able to purchase your coaches' membership from the state office.

Why is the feature to purchase coaches cards online disabled for Kansas???

USAWKS does not allow Coaches to purchase their cards independently! The Kansas Clubs want control over who purchases Coaches cards.

You will have to align yourself with a club to get a Coaches card!

Why, does this sound like we are way behind the times, like somebody is a little power hungry.

The clubs have said they want control over who represents them on the mat.

You can purchase an unattached card. Email me the following information
name
address
phone
date of birth
proof of current background check

To pay for your card go to our website, click on Become a Member and there you will find the option to pay via PayPal.

If you purchase your card this way you will not be put on a club roster.
