I'm sure this is a repetitive topic, but I am interested in knowing who might be tough in the 8&under 58lb. category this year. It is difficult to determine, when very few results are posted,(almost none from dist #4.

As you said it is very early but here are a few names that I know about. Ulysses Deshazer from TOHK should be at either 58 or 61. He was in the class from 52 last year. Other returning state qualifiers that should be at or around 58 are Bryce Dakin from Emporia, and Bo Pursel from Tonganoxie. Lemanske from Bonner is back as well. We won't see him till Manhattan but his dad said he thought he would be 61. Others that I know are around are Koehn from Pittsburg and Roy from Linn Co. I am sure there will be several tough kids from Districts 2-4 as well. Both Dowell from Eldorado and Cotton from Hutch are 61 or 64.

There also could be some tough kids up from 49 that I don't know as good yet. Time will tell but those are some names to look for. Good luck to all.

tman - since you're from Ellis, which is in District 4, you probably already know who to watch for from that district so the results shouldn't be a problem. Since most clubs out here just started practicing a couple weeks ago, and haven't been to any tournaments it's just a guess who's going to be where right now anyway. You should find out what you need to know at Hays on Saturday. I can name a few off the top of my head that will be close to the that weight presumably:

Konner Kriss - Colby 55/58 who I know beat Dakin each time they wrestled last year, and I feel is also ahead of Lemanske, or I should say would have beaten him last year anyway. (2 names mentioned above)
Also Chase Newell of Ulysses will be around this weight and he is a good little wrestler.
Another would be Justin Waggoner of Wakeeney who's pretty decent.
I beleive Eli Sherwood moves up to 10&U, Taylor Moeder is in 10&U, Miller of Goodland I beleive is in 10&U this year. I'm probably missing someone that will be obvious to me later, but the 3 8&U's listed above are what come to mind to me at this time from District 4.

I appreciate all the input. Tyler Walters (my son) will be moving up from 6&U 52 to 8&U 58 and I was curious as to who was out there. Tyler was 27-1 last year, only losing to Jake Gehring at Hutchinson in the semi's and we are hoping he can be competitive this season. Good luck to all and THANKS!
