I will be presenting a “Girls High School Wrestling” breakout session at the KWCA clinic on October 8. This session will center on the proposal to sanction Girls Wrestling as a KSHSAA sport. If you are an advocate of this proposal, which would allow girls to wrestle in their own sport, I need your support.
In a nut shell, we need 24 schools to support the proposal and vouch to have a girl’s team. If we get to 24 schools, KSHSAA will hear the proposal out.
The most important current action item is: Coaches need to support the proposal. The coaches need to go to their Athletic Directors and state “We need to support the girls wresting proposal”.
So you advocates of this proposal need to get your high school coaches on board. Be persistent and consistent. Grow your local advocate base and continue to push for your school and wrestling coaches to support the proposal.
