Come join us on Saturday, November 26 for the Inaugural Wichita Sports Forum Thanksgiving Classic. This tournament will take place at the beautiful new Wichita Sports Forum at K96 and Greenwich. It’s a wonderful new facility that will be a great host to a wrestling tournament. We are hoping this is the first of MANY wrestling tournaments in the near future at WSF.

Weigh-Ins will take place on Friday, November 25 at the Sports Forum. Satellite weigh-ins will be offered if there is a need. You will be able to register on track wrestling starting this weekend.

Beautiful, custom made medals will be given to 1st-4th in each age group. We will also be giving out awards to an “Outstanding Wrestler” in each age group as well as “Team Trophies” that will be awarded in each division to the team with the most points after the Championship Round.

We plan on wrestling every match on a full sized mat (if possible). This will mostly depend on # of wrestlers we have, but we will make ever attempt to have every match on a full sized mat.

We will also be offering a Novice Tournament as part of the Thanksgiving Classic. We will also have awards for the Novice Division as well.

One of the perks at having tournaments at the Wichita Sports Forum is the 20,000 square foot trampoline park in the building. You can let your kids brothers and sisters jump and stay busy while you are watching wrestling!! It’s a win/win for everyone.

Registration is now open for the Inaugural Wichita Sports Forum Thanksgiving Classic. Initial interest in the tournament has been great. We are very excited about packing the place and putting on a 1st class event.

What will the spectator seating be like?

Great question. We will have sets of bleachers on the floor surrounding the mats. This will be for the people that want to be down on top of the action. There is a center mezzanine in the middle of the facility that will overlook the mats. There are many bleachers up there as well and this will be a great vantage point to watch the action. There will also be lots of chairs on the mezzanine as well as on the floor. For those people wanting to stand, there will be lots of room to stand and roam as well.

Are there any satellite weigh in locations?

Yes, we currently have one in Junction City and another in Lawrence. We will get more information on those posted ASAP. If anyone else is interested in hosting one, e-mail me at brian@wichitasportsforum.com.
