Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Dean Sheets 90th birthday

I know not everyone knows my dad Dean Sheets in the high school realm but I know some high school coaches​ and officials may remember him.

The Sheets Family would like to invite the wrestling community to Dean's 90th birthday party April 22nd at the Linwood Elementary School in Linwood Kansas from 5-9. We will be serving a Taco Bar from 5:30-9.

Some of my earliest memories of wrestling involve battles with Dean's hammers. Dean was always happy to be in the gym coaching all of the youngsters. I also have a great memory of my father and Dean wrestling at an old timers tournament in Osawatomie back in the early 90's. He was the oldest competitor back then, but still competed in those tournaments for many more years. Dean was a great man to have in the sport and, I to this day, am always happy to see him. Even though he always coached against me, he was one of my favorite people to see at the kids tournaments throughout the years. Happy Birthday Dean, may you celebrate many more.
