Any know what happened to Adam Venegas at state? I was very surpirsed to see that he didn't win, since he was the 6A state champion, Anybody know what happened?

Adam is a very good wrestler, but I think that 6A heavyweight was very overrated this year. Adam really didn't have much of a challenge the whole year except for the Basehor-Linwood tournament. Meanwhile, 5A heavyweight was prolly the most solid from top to bottom, and Jason Duffy is a very good wrestler. The only other time I saw Duffy was this year at the Hays tourny when Ubben pinned him in about a minute. But that's just Ubben doing what he does best.

I don't think that Venegas was over rated. I think that he just got caught by a lucky throw. He is a very good wrestler. I should know he kicked my butt at districts. Duffy just did a good job at catching Venegas off guard.

I had dinner with Adam and his dad immediatly following his 1st loss and Adam said he thought he was going to get called for stalling so he tried to trip up the guy and just got caught. He took it well and knew what he did. I think that is what makes a good wrestler. He in return showed my 9 year old what not to do and coached him the following day along the side of his coaches.
Adam is who my son looks up to. He even bleached out his hair to be "like Adam".

Did anybody see Spare at state did he do any good or was a lot of it luck?
