The Western States Folkstyle Championships will be held in Sioux City, IA on Saturday, December 17th. It is a great opprotunity for wrestlers from Northeast Kansas to compete against Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin competition. We are expecting 500 wrestlers to attend this event.

The awards are outstanding. There are HUGE team and individual trophies being awarded. Upper age divisions will wrestle on full size mats.

I wanted to let everyone know the Western States tournament is now an official qualifing event for the Ohio Tournament of Champions.

The Ohio TofC is the largest one-day amatuer wrestling touranment in the world. It has 30 mats in one facility with 3,400 wrestlers. Find out more information at http://www.ohiotofc.com/

This is not a new Tournament for I am from there however it has just grown bigger and now will get some real exposure along with Sioux City, IOWA getting the WORLD TEAM TRIALS in May.

We know have six states represented. Some kids from Olathe, KS are making the trip.
