Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Regional Seeding Criteria

Question regarding seeding criteria for 6A Regionals. I noticed for East/West Regionals the criteria is the same; however, in a different order. Also, 6A West is in a different order than last year. My question is, does this matter? And if so, how is this determined (by KSHSAA, host school etc)?

We have some great wrestlers out there and seeding margins can be thin. Thank you for your taking time with my question.

1. Head to head
2. Common opponents
3. Returning state champ, from previous year
4. Returning state placer, from previous year
5. Returning regional champ/runner-up at the same weight, from previous year
6. Overall record.

This is straight out of the kshsaa wrestling manual, 2022-2023, pg. 23, 3.E.3 Seeding Criteria.
