Wichita East is still looking for a head coach for this season. While I still teach at the school, I made the tough decision back in March to step down in order to spend more time with my young family. The athletic director has been unsuccessful so far in replacing me. I will support the team as much as possible in order for the transition to the next head coach to go smoothly.
There is currently a great group of kids (guys and gals) returning who are very hungry this season. There are also some club experienced freshmen this year ready to roll.
They have been organizing team meetings and fundraisers this semester on their own, showing great leadership skills. The core group of returners truly are great kids. I hate to see them without a good coach to continue rebuilding this once proud program. Whoever steps up to fill in will have an outstanding base to build from.
