Reminders:
  • Proposal here is in it's original form as it was submitted. This is one proposal and thus one vote
  • Executive Board - Voted the following way:
    1. 0 Yes, 10 No - Board No

Notes: Current bylaws only allow the State Body meeting to be conducted as an in-person meeting. While this meeting may be broadcast electronically for anyone to watch, the actual business and votes have to be done in person. This proposal would make it such that this meeting could be conducted virtually. Ultimately the vote by the board was no. There were serious reservations about the ability to accommodate the potentially 200+ clubs into a virtual meeting with so many business items to get through in any given year amongst other issues.
  • 2/3rds State Body Vote is required for passage of this item.

"Good question.
Per our bylaws, any State Body meeting (annual/ special} is in person. There is no allowance for streaming or video conferencing.
That said, things in our bylaws can change (ie: a quorum can be formed by in person and/or a combination via video conferencing}.

I would think this is a good idea and would like to take this opportunity as the input for that change. Would that be acceptable to you?

Hi Kurt,
Yes we would appreciate that! For example we are prepping for our own home tournament that next day so making it down to Wichita would be difficult, but obviously hopping on a call makes it easier. We also are interested to hear the discussions on clocks and other items per the meeting last week. We appreciate the opportunity to possibly add this into the bylaws. Please let me know what further action is needed from us if any.
