Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion Kids Folkstyle NEW YEARS TAKEDOWN TOURNY & LOCK-IN

WE ARE CONSIDERING HOSTING A TAKEDOWN TOURNAMENT IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA FOR DIV. I-VI ON NEW YEARS EVE, THEN FOLLOWING IT UP WITH A LOCK-IN. THE FORMAT WOULD BE DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKET, TAKEDOWN WINS THE PERIOD, 3 PERIODS OF 2:00 MAX. WE WOULD BEGIN THE TAKEDOWN TOURNY AT 7:00 PM, WRESTLE TO COMPLETION, THE WATCH THE NEW YEARS CELEBRATIONS ON TELEVISIONS. WE WOULD ALSO HAVE AN ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY BRING AIR UP OBSTACLE COURSES AND MOON BOUNCES, ETC. EACH TEAM WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE 1 ADULT IN ATTENDANCE WITH EVERY 6 KIDS. I think that sounds fun. Where are you guys going to host it at though? I think UCO might have enough interest to do this.

Nope. It would be at the Guthrie High School, approximately 15 min. north of UCO. The main gym would be filled with mats, and the secondary gym filled with the aired up obstacle courses for the younger ones. We would wrestle from around 7 to 11, then turn on the 3 or 4 big screens, set up the air up boxing ring and larger obstacle courses on top of the mats, then watch New Years celebrations on TV and have a blast. We would lock the doors when wrestling began, then unlock them at 7:00 in the morning!

Unless, of course, you are offering me the use of UCO's facility free of charge!
