Mike, There are no sure things. Anyone can be beat, it just depends on who shows up. But, thank you for your thoughts on Landon. From watching most of these kids, here are my picks for the kids that should be in the running to place. In no particular order. Rodriguez--Dodge City Smith---Winfield Ragnoni---Salina Allen---Haysville Coleman---Valley Center Bazzelle---NW Grizzlies Vanderweide--Atchinson Wood---Ulysses Tigers Yes, there are more than the 6 that place but, depending on how the bracket falls and cross bracketing to the back ends up will make a big difference in this bracket at State.

Mr. Wood, You're right, there are no sure things in life. But you can pretty well count on the sun rising in the east, setting in the west and Landon winning state.
I agree with you list of possible placers at state with a couple of additional thoughts. There is no guarantee that Brody Bazzelle and Trevor Smith will even make it to State. There are two other wrestlers in D2 that are very tough, Conagher Welch from Indy and Lonnie Finney from Clearwater. They both made it to state last year and placed 2 and 3 at subs last week.
For Brody to make it state he will have to beat two kids that he has not beat all year. It will be tough, but he could do it. Depends on which Brody shows up saturday.

There sure are no guarantees. D2 is a very tough bracket at 61 lbs. Thanks, Bazzelle, for bringin up Welch and Finney, both very good wrestlers, also, Wood did not mention Adam Cole of Chanute, D1 South winner.

Oh boy, D2 is tough, all in all probably the toughest district at 8 @ under 61. But Woods and Allen are going to be hard to beat. I hope to see all the boys that are mentioned above because they are all darn good wrestlers. Including Brody, Mr.Bazzelle hope to see you there!!

Yes, 8 and under 61lbs is tough. But thats the great thing about wresting, any one can be beaten at anytime. these are kids and they do make mistakes when they are on the mat. My son also wrestles in this weight class and has beaten a couple kids that are on the list above, but what it all comes down to is who wants it more in the end, and who makes the least mistakes.
