Tony Purler would be interested in hosting a weekly clinic in Wichita if there were enough participants. Cost would be $50 per month for the weekly session with 2 months to be paid upfront. A wrestling location would need to be found and he would need approx. 20 students to start a class. Any interest?

Tony is one of the best leg wrestlers in the country. If outside of the high school season I would certainly be interested. It is something that could help a lot of wrestlers across the state.

Tony Purler would like start year round weekly sessions for all age groups in the wichita area - again this would depend on # of participants and the availibility of a training location. Any interest?

Birddog, Just spent some time with several Eureka High School wrestlers in Lincoln. Great group of kids! I've reveiwed and utilized in instruction some of PWA technique. I found it to be quite helpful and my wrestlers were better for it. I might be able to work something out with my A.D. if I had more specifics. Please forward my email address to Mr. Purler so that we can discuss it further. And c'mon Mike, I know you understand what a big thing this would be for the Wichita wrestling community. I'm sure you could find a way to make it; besides, I haven't met you in person as of yet. As far as I know, it is completely within regulations for the kids to attend as long as their coach doesn't transport or attend with them.

Mike, I just remember that year before last when we had a clinic in the Wichita area with Danny Hodge and a number of college wrestlers we were told that high school wrestlers could not attend. I hope I am wrong on this or had bad information. Believe me I would have my son there every chance I could and would encourage other HS wrestlers to attend. This could be a great thing for the area. Look forward to meeting you in the future.

Just had a email on this from a good friend. It is my understanding, that during season, a high school wrestler can participate in private sessions. I understand that, but maybe Richard or someone can give us rules clarification regarding clinics during season. Of course there is the out of season issues regarding a coach with team members and so forth. Anyway, I know more appropriate for a high school forum and I will pose the question there. But an answer here may be good for 8th graders going into high school
