No one------
Coming from a Senior just being at the State tournament is an accomplishment, to those that didn't qualify you gave it all you had and just came up short. If you're a fellow senior like myself you gave it all you had and have nothing to be ashamed of, if you're an underclassmen keep working you'll get there. If you feel you shoulda have placed but didn't remember that you got there, that in itself is an accomplishment.

The biggest disappointment is a thread that asks a question like this...

Good dreams don't come cheap, you have to pay for them....

Learning that we are not given the choice of purchasing state t-shirts that are smaller than a Large. Why should the lighter weights have to wear shirts that are huge on them?

I'm with Coach DeWitt. I don't consider it a hospitality when you have to pay $6.00 each time you walk through the door! Nor having to pay to get updated brackets for the coaches. Lets hope Salina is better with the meaning of hospitality.

The "team scores" on this website adding extra teams to the 5a and 6a tournaments. It's confusing!

paying for hospitality just doesn't seem right. Hays had a decent one and I thank all the workers for a good tournament.

I also was very disappointed in the hospitality at the state tournament. Friday morning I walked upstairs to get a shirt before all of the smalls and mediums were taken. They said that they only had large and extra large. On saturday I walked by the booth and saw a sign saying they were out of small and mediums. I don't know why they said they ran out if they never had them in the first place. Why would they not have smalls and mediums when the KNOW that there will be smaller wrestlers that want shirts? it was ridiculous. Also, buying ANYTHING at the state tournament was extremely expensive! Although this was the first year when they didn't get as mad when we brought outside food in on the floor. For the last few years we had to hide it in our bags. hopefully next year things will be better.

Six dollars isn't much more than a fast food place and this was better for you. Plus you didn't have to go out and get caught in BTK traffic, so it wasn't that bad. They also said you could have all you wanted. I even went back for a drink and cookies when they were closed and they didn't mind. I agree the t-shirt thing is ridiculous. It seems to happen every year no matter how early we get there. On the positive side, I thought security at the doors and clearing the stairways was much more friendly and relaxed this year. I also thought the bathrooms, trash cans, etc. were kept up much better. As always, the tournament ran smooth so thanks to all those that worked hard to keep it going. All the officials did a great job too. I know they take a beating when they make a questionable call but what wrestler or coach wouldn't want to have the record they have of good calls vs. bad calls. And since I'm on a roll, great job by the spectators too. I didn't see any fights this year over seats or banner placement, or anything else. Finally, congratulations to all the wrestlers on a great job. THE ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT IS NOT GIVING YOUR BEST! rhill

I believe the point they are trying to make is the fact that they call it a Hospitality room and then charge you for your meal. So at least call it the coaches room rather than using the word Hospitality leading someone to believe that it is going to be a place that coaches are welcome and will recieve generous treatment which is the definition of hospitality.

How was the Hays Hospitality room? Did anyone have to pay for that?

The biggest disappointment for me was to see the behavior that was displayed by some of the fans and parents at the state tournament. I’m not speaking of any one school or group specifically, but in general. I saw one set of parents that gave me the impression that they felt their son was worthless because he lost his finals match. Wow! How could you ever feel that way about your son?
It is one thing to feel disappointed, but the ranting and raving are completely ridiculous! I’ve always felt that I was a pretty fiery competitor, but we need to keep things in perspective. This is just a sport and no matter what the back of a T-shirt might say, wrestling is not life, and if you truly feel that way, you need to step back and take a look at the big picture. I guess what irks me the most is that most of these complainers either never wrestled before or never had the guts to wrestle.
Remember none of the kids that stepped out on the mat wanted to lose intentionally.

The biggest disappointment for me was when the Ellis cheerleaders fell down during their routine.

Biggest dissapointment to me was when i got disqualified with 1:30 left in the 3rd period for having under armor on. Not sure what its called exactly but i think its "inproper equipment"? It showed about an inch below my singlet. I worked pretty hard this year to get disqualified out of my last match like that.

I felt really bad when the cheerleader fell as well - they were doing great until that and after she fell it looked like they got nervous and didn't perform quite as well as before (although I felt they did a great job in spite of it all!). I was VERY impressed when the Norton girls were doing their routine and the Ellis girls cheered them on - a very classy act!

I was disappointed that I didn't know some of the best "wrestling" happened at 8:00 am and wasn't mentally prepared for my own match - the one where the banners are hung! I'll be ready next year tho! ;-)

Mom160, try having a team from 4A that came 2 yrs. ago into 3A steal your seats that you have sat in for 14 years! But we had fun with the Norton crowd! And yes the banner match is tough!

In my own opinion say that the Scott City wrestling team was the biggest dissapointment this year. Coming off a state championship last year, and losing only 3 seniors what happend? I relize that 2 of the seniors were 4 time state placers but still. What happend to Lakin Dreiling? Being from Goodland we see sc several times in a year and they looked much better at the begining than at state. Not to take away from Fox and Miller who were state champs congrats to u two and to all the state champs, placers and qualifers. Also good luck to the seniors with next year and ur plans, and all the other wrestlers with ur wrestling careers.
