I am in the middle of this topic. I give almost all of my wrestling knowledge such as learning new moves, to my coachs Kirk Gable, Dave Robison, and of course Coach Christner, I've thanked them many times for all of their help. However how good a kid is is really more dependent on thier attitude and work ethic. You can have some the of best coaches in the state such as Kirk Baker, and still have kids that have a crappy work ethic who aren't that good. I believe coaches get all the recognition that they want from the people that really matter the most. That being their wrestlers and their familes. As a former coach myself I got all my satisfaction from watching a kid getting their hand raised and walking off the mat with a smile, what everyone else thought about me never came into consideration. Coaches are appreciated, maybe not on paper or verbally all the time, but when and where it matters.
