The Wichita Classic starts on Friday March 4th. Buhler Kansas is a community about 35 miles west of Wichita and the host of the third benefit clinic for Tyler Graebner. We recognize that many top notch college wrestlers and coaches will be at the national championships that weekend. We are therefore seeking all wrestlers and coaches on both a college and high school level to help with this clinic that is not in attendance at the NCAA's. We are wanting to feature as much as possible High School State Champions and even are seeking to have between 2 and 5 challenge matches between high school state champions from different divisions and different states including Oklahoma and Missouri, even other states if they want to participate. There may also be a chance for some wrestlers to wrestle out of their division, for example an top notch 8th grader against a high school wrestler, or a high school wrestler against a college wrestler. This is a non sanctioned event for charity so anything goes. Please help spread the word on the clinic and challenge matches. If interested in helping coach the clinic or wrestle a challenge match against an in state wrestler or an out of state wrestler please let me know. This could be something great. As usual the cost of the clinic will be $10 with all of the proceeds going to help with Tyler's medical costs. There will also be numerous autographed items available for auction. Feel free to email or call for more information.
Regarding the challenge matches, who would you like to see participate in this, it could be in state kids against out of state kids or in state wrestlers against wrestlers in a different division. Any thoughts? Hope to have a packed house for Tyler. In that this event is after the High School season there should be no problems with attending and participating. This is the chance for the high school community to step up and help a young man who loves the sport.

This will be a great opportunity for everyone to buy and wear a "Taking it to the Mat for Tyler" shirt. How cool would it be for lots of people to be wearing their shirts and have Tyler come into the gym!
I will be at the benefit selling shirts and buttons. If anyone knows that they want a shirt at that time, send me your color and size preference and I will be sure to have it with me. (By the way did anyone notice how nice those Bishop Carroll coaches looked with their bright yellow Tyler shirts?)
As far as the challenges go, I'd be willing to pay extra to watch some of the coaches match up. Let's see, Coach Ed and anyone that thinks they can take him (besides Ms Jenni of course).

You can count Carroll JR Wrestling in. I had a blast at the clinic in Derby and would be honored to help out again. Especially if you invite a few of my Oklahoma friends. Coach Dan and I were very excited to help support Tyler at Salina. As far as challenging Coach Ed...I'm not so sure about that. You might be holding a benefit for me next year.

Hey Cindy, I saw the shirts and thought they looked great. I thought it would be a great idea for each team to order shirts with their team colors. They could then have printed on the back something like Maize Wrestling for Tyler.
I am thinking about talking to the Derby Club, taking orders for Kelly Green and then getting the Derby for Tyler on the back of the shirt. Don't know if you can do this or not but it would be easy to do at most printers if you don't. Would be great. By the way for those that don't know I am working on having Tyler do something special at the state tournament, hopefully this comes through.
Another question for Maize. Are you still planning on getting a $1 donation for admission or attendance at your tournament for Tyler? Other clubs have had original ideas and hopefully more will have them.
These would make great match ups.
Tom Petterman Vs. Charlie Knox (one for old times sake)
Danny DeShazer Vs. Tristan DeShazer
Eric Akin Vs. Kenny Taylor Jr.
I can also think of several top 8th graders that I would like to see challenge placers at high school state. Wow this could be so much fun if people come through.
It would also be great to have a Greco & Freestyle exhibition match or demonstration. Coach Peterman, think you could work something out with that?
There are so many others like Altman, Metzler, Ely, Sponzel, Cornejo, Grater, and the list just keeps on going.

I'd put my money on Ms. Jenni, too!
Great idea for the shirts in team colors. We could do just about anything anyone would like. Call me 316-651-6210 or e-mail me at cindypage53@aol.com.

Flyers for the event are completed, clubs and schools needing them to hand out to parents etc, email me and I'll send one to you via email. They will change as more clinicians are set up. The file is in word format. email me with "Tyler Flyer" in the subject line at mike@furches.org.

Hold up--I have been at work all morning, trying to save lives and you guys are messing with me. Now, Coach Craig, you know I have been working out so I can't be responsible for injuries. I have mastered the 5 on 2 and your oil isn't safe either.
The NW Jr. Grizzlies will be there and I have some Kansas Krusaders that are being released from HS soon. Maybe we could do a girls match too. NOT WITH ME!
I will check on the team shirt thing, you know I have an "in" with the t-shirt lady. Also, my boys could wrestle or ref. Let me know Mike and the edisons and all their wrestlers of different types, shapes, sizes and genders will be glad to answer the call for Tyler.
Gotta go...sick people are calling!
Ms. Jenni

I was worried about you Ms. Jenni, I thought you got stuck at some high school wrestling match and forgot to come back.
I am working on a new Grizzles shirt, and if it's approved we will put something about Tyler on the back. I will be in Valley Center Saturday, we can talk.
Now I still want to see someone, anyone wrestle Coach Ed at the clinic.

Quick note on shirts for Tyler. I have a new stock of PINK ones ready, and will have them in my car at the Valley Center tournament. You know REAL MEN are now wearing PINK. We've had more request from fellows for those pink shirts. Look for the Northwest groupies and you will find me.

Pink shirts for the guys, are you kidding? Wait a second, "NATHAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING WEARING THAT PINK SHIRT FOR? ....... WHAT? ..... Okay I guess it is a Taking it to the Mat for Tyler shirt so that is okay." (An actual conversation taking place at the Furches household recently)
By the way Ms, Jenni, I think a good high school girls match for the challenge matches would be great for the Buhler Clinic, set it up and let me know who you want to do the match. Will be great to have the young men of the house there as well.

I have had some calls on shirts for Tyler in team colors. If a team wants the "Taking it to the Mat for TYLER" in their team colors the price would be $10.00 each with $5.00 from each shirt going to Tyler's fund.
If they wanted something different, i.e. their team logo on the front and something different about Tyler on back there would be a $20.00 set up charge for each screen we would need to make. The shirts would be $11.00 each, with $5.00 going to Tyler. For these orders, we would need to get 50% of the money up front.
We can do the shirts in any color, and the print in any color. Sizes range from youth small up to adult 6X. If shirts are wanted for the clinic in March, orders need to be made soon. It will be a two week turn around from the time of the order until delivery.
There will be some "Taking it to the Mat for TYLER" shirts at the clinic in a variety of sizes and colors.
