Just wanted to see who could come closest to predicting the final score in the Metro Classic

Mine: Kansas 29-21

missouri 27-22 (could be worst)

the MO kids are way better than the KS kids this year, especially the Platte Co. kids.

Conaghan will not wrestle and will be replaced with Pratt from Spring Hill
I see Dyer as the only sure thing

I am from Kansas, but I think mo might have the upper hand because they seem to have higher state placers on their team. :p

another reason is that it is much tougher to be a state placer in MO and most of the programs, especially in the KC area, in MO are better than the KC Kansas side programs.

Oak Grove/Platte County, Blue Springs, etc are incredible programs

I don't necessarilly think that Missouri will walk away with this dual at all. If anyone remembers last years Metro Classic Missouri had may more state champs and finalists competing than Kansas did and we beat them pretty bad. That's also with Kansas' best wrestler not competing. Of course I am talking about Joe Johnston. All in all it will make for an exciting dual, son't count Kansas out just yet!

C'mon vikes, have a little faith in our Kansas guys. They obviously came out ready to wrestle. Congrats to all of our Kansas kids.
As a former Kansan I am happy to see the success.

just thought I might share a few things from the metro program with all of you who did not get to go. The first was in 92 and the second in 94. It has been an annual affair since. The proceeds go to scholarships with KS half going to Hays.
Missouri has won 6 to only 4 for KS but Kansas handily won the last two and has the overall advantage in match wins 73-66 including this year.
Kansas has been represented by 45 different schools. Wyandotte has had the most competitors with 10 and going 5-5. Schools that have had at least 3 wins are
Atchison County 6-0
Blue Valley 3-4
Blue Valley North 3-1
Blue Valley NW 6-2
Harmon 3-1
Leavenworth 4-2
Paola 4-1
Santa Fe Trail 3-1
Spring Hill 3-3
Kansas has the edge historically in the lightest 3 weights and the heaviest 3 and missouri has done better in the middle weights.

Yeah great call on this, apparantly someone hasn't been watching Kansas wrestling. I love it when people come on the forum and start making outragous claims like "missouri is gonna smoke Kansas" and "Its harder to place in MO state than Kansas" Well just for the record let me once again post the score of the Metro Classic
Kansas 33 Missouri 19
Kansas won 10 of 15 matches!!
and let me point out some key matches just to prove that it is not easier to place in Kansas State. James Ball from Blue Valley Northwest lost 6 times this year placed 5th in Kansas and Tech Falled, yes Tech falled the state champion from Missouri. Oh never mind its not even worth finishing. My observations have made me come to the conclusion that this was not a fluke or an upset, the Kansas boys just come to wrestle

Good call Nigel. I had faith in Kansas wrestling all along. I just watched it again on Metro Sports, and was even more impressed with the victory.

NOTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went back to last year and pulled this thread about the metro up. It sounds pretty much the same as this year. Everybody or a lot of people were so sure missouri was going to win because they looked better on paper

There should be some great matches this Tuesday, the only prediction you can make at this stage in the game is that whoever decides to show up tommorow will probably win!

Actually, I think both teams plan on showing up tomorrow. It wouldn't make much sense to hold such an event, then have one team forfeit because they refused to attend the competition.

That being said, Kansas will win 100-0.
