First of all, hats off to the Clay Center Tigers on their 4A State Championship. We've watched you guys for many, many years and knew we had a shot at doing it this year!! Also, congrats to Trevor Charbonneau on his Ind. State Championship at 119#. From the 10 Regional placers to the 6 state placers, GREAT JOB GUYS!! It was like having 10 sons wrestling, instead of just Danny.

What an exciting weekend this has been for our wrestlers, as well as the parents!! On Thursday night, the 10 state qualifiers and coaches left by Police Escort from Clay Center, with their parents and supporters wishing them well by caravaning them out of town. The boys were meet by many that night, as well as signs along the highway out of town.

After winning the Championship Saturday night, several of us stayed over and returned home on Sunday. You could not believe the excitement and emotion that we all had when we topped the hill south of Clay Center and seen all the cars, as well as a Police Escort, waiting to bring the 4A State Wrestling Championship Team, cheerleaders, wrestlettes, and those parents into Clay Center with sirens going strong!!

To those of you who supported the wrestlers and coaches during this year and who greeted us with signs, horns honking, or standing outside waving as we all pulled into town, THANK YOU!!! When we arrived at the high school, it was even more exciting to find people waiting to greet us once again!! A brief pep rally was held inside and the people were able to congratulate the wrestlers and coaches. A big thank you goes out to CC Sheriffs and CC Police Department, Coach Jerry Fraser, and Rocky Downing (KCLY) for helping arrange all of this and for covering the CCCHS team this weekend!!

It was a very exciting and emotional weekend and thanks to all who made it so special for our kids. You will truly never know how much it meant to all of us! It was been a very fun and exciting year with only better things to come!!
