Well I can tell you bcak in 1997-2000 Abiene's practices went something like this. First hour was live hard drilling going though long list of Takedowns, Top Moves and Bottom Moves, 30 second of each, by the time it was over you were drenced in sweat and breathing really hard. The next 20-30 minutes was usually shark-bait, 1 in 1 out, that type of live wrestling, then for about the first month of practice cames three groups, 1 would go do stairs, 1 would do light weights, and 1 would do live wrestling matches in the wrestling room. Then after everyone had rotated through all three groups back to the wrestling room for three man rolls. During Christmas break practice it was the dreaded 30 minute 3-man roll, don't no of any other team that does that? On a scale of 1-10 I can hinestly say it was a 10 for the first half of the season, Im not sure any other team at the time had a practice quite like ours and I think that is what has made the Abilene program so good. The team as a whole starts to taper off practice as the season progresses and work more on technique and live wrestling. I loved wrestling practice though, I looked forward to it everyday.
