Lighten up! It's too bad we — and our kids — don't get more exposure to the big leagues of wrestling like that. Anytime I can take my kids to a D-I college meet or show them a tape of a meet, I think it's a good thing; it's the perfect example of what this sport is supposed to look like.
As for the outcome, wow! I never would have expected a blowout like that.

yeah, i agree with that, but u could just as easily talk about that on the college forum that is conveniently located on this page.

college wrestling has to do with our team atleast i dont know about yours bigkneepads. we watch tapes of Iowa, Iowa State, and other schools. one of our coaches has a relative in iowa whom records matches for us and then we watch them. its nice to watch and not to mention some times you can pick up moves and technique.

good call raider. watching college wrestlers in action can help the high school kids to learn technique, as well as watch how college wrestlers work there hardest and show how they never give up. It could also help motivate kids and give them something to work for and someone to look up to.

I agree with all this heartily, but there is a time and a place to talk about college wrestling and it is not here. High school wrestlers can easily go to the main kansas forum and enter the college section to discuss wrestling. I often check all aspects of the forum and would prefer to keep them all separate whenever possible. Otherwise, why not just have one huge forum where people talk about whatever they please. I understand how high school and college correlate, but they do not have to be discussed together to spread knowledge.

BKP, I disagree from this standpoint: Kids in Kansas don't have the overall exposure to the upper levels of this sport the way kids in neighboring states do. All of our boardering states have at least one D-I program to follow, emulate and aspire to. A brief mention like this on the Kansas high school forum is both harmless and in the long run, a good thing.

Not all of the high school kids are going to check out the college portion of the Forums the way you do. And with the NCAA tournament coming to Kansas City in March, we probably should be — at the high school level — be building interest in our kids. Trust me, it's the greatest show on mat and I hope as many of my kids as possible can make it down there for at least a round.

I am interested in this post, but i would be a whole lot more interested in it if it were on the college forum where it belongs. I'm not trying to be belligerent, but I just think the different aspects of the forum should be kept separate. That's just the way I feel, no hard feelings towards anyone.

I think most people don't look at the college posts too often and this forum sort of gets it more attention.
