Now that all state has finally come around, and people have missed there chance at state, what are some major ones that stick out in everybody's mind. Who got upset/killed/beat? Just wonderin
Thanks

Kyle Beebe got upset by Brandon Tracy in the 112 lb caney regional. No one has ever heard of Tracy and he's been stomped by Beebe for the past 2 years and he beat Beebe in double overtime to go to state. The score was 0-0 in 2ot and Tracy wanted it more. I believe Beebe was ranked at one time.

It's like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired—you quit when the gorilla is tired.

Lucas Geske, who placed at state last year did not qualify this year. He was seeded second then lost and was cross bracketed, fought all the way through to the cons. semis and had to wrestle Cody Betsworth from Santa Fe Trail who should have been in the finals but was DQ'ed from his match becuase of an illegal slam. SO lucas kinda got the bad deal but thats the way it happens.

Tollefson of Royal Valley took 4th at state last year and got beat out in the regional Not really an upset just a lot of good kids. Simon of Wabaunsee ranked #5 at 215 got beat out in regionals. Again I thought the 4 that placed were the top 4 going in. A very deep class. Look for this #4 to win against the regional champ he gets in the first round.

Tollefson got 5th at 103, then jumped up to 119. So the big increase in weight didn't help the situation. Simon wasn't that big of a surprise because 215 was loaded at the Wellsville tournament. There are several kids that will place high at state that were in that regional.

One of the biggest upsets that COULD have happened was 189 4a with Chris Glenn and Jacob Strait, that was one of the best matches I saw at a regionals championship bout. Also when Matt Dukes of Baeshor almost lost to a guy from Topeka Hayden in the semis but thanks to the HOME TEAM ref he won.

Who did Shields gets beat out by? Was it just a poor performance for him or just a loaded weight?

he was beat by sommer of anderson co in the semis, who had beaten him earlier in the year, and then got pinned by lang from baldwin, who is also very good but lost to arveson from chapman on the front side in ot, the bracket was just flat out stacked, not that sheilds wrestled all that bad, there were 5 good kids that could place at state there, and a 30 win kid from burlington that lost out. i don't know how the state picks regionals, but i don't see how in the world you could pick them that lopsided. oh yeah, one other thing, why was the other shields kid not wrestling? j/w

Another upset was when Aaron Rinehart was knocked out form going to state 4a 189lbs, there were 5 returning state qualifiers in that bracket, the question again comes up who sets up these lop sided regionals, Rinehart lost to Glenn in the semis, and then to Thoreson in the Consolation semis to go to state..

kylw beebe has never been in a double over time situation, so he really didnt no what to do. i still think his mind wasnt in it either. Brandonn Travy wanted a win so did kyle he just took him to light. he got a big head just like two other teamates of his,Levi King and Andrew Carrillo

I think there is going to be an upset at 171 definately. The only undefeated wrestler is gonna get beat out and then cry about it and eventually go into catatonic stupor.
