Can Somebody tell me why abilene is not ranked higher than 9th place. They beat Clay Center in a duel they have placed top 4 for the past 4 years. Abilene has not lost a duel in 5 years are ther any other teams that have a record like that? If so please let me know.
abilene deserves to be ranked exactly where they are. they aren't that good of a tournament team. abilene's streak of top 4 finishes the last 4 years will be broke this year. and duals don't really mean anything.
Anyone who says that Abeline is not that great of a wrestling team is completely wrong. Sure they are having an off year, but being ranked 9th in the state on an off year means that they must have a hell of a program, which is exactly the case.
I don't know just where Abilene will finish. I saw them wrestle at the Beloit tourney. Surely Kriebaum is a stud. I am not sure just who else will place at state for them. One thing I do know is they are a program most have envied over the last few years. If they are having a down year and still place in the top ten they are still up by many standards. Few teams can match what they have accomplished. A coach (who is now deceased) once told me you don't know pressure until you win state. Coaching is fun while you are building a program. When you get to the top, you can't imagine the pressure you feel to maintain that level. I think Abilene will do fine. When (if) Clay Center gets to that level perhaps they will be more understanding of Abilene.
