I am in the process of compiling the 2004-2005 4A Team Preview and Rankings.

In doing so, I am trying to welcome myself into the 21st century by providing on-line forms for coaches to send their information to me at the following link:

To Send 4A Rankings Information

If you are a wrestler of a coach who does not use this forum or use the Internet, either direct your coach to this site and help them fill it out or print out the form, give it to your coach and have him fax the information to me.

Thanks for your help

Here we go again-- It sure is great to see ranking starting again and I am grateful that people like Mr. Dewitt will take the time to do it-- I will forward a heads up to our coach at Pratt!

Can you show me a list of the top 10 ranked wrestlers at 130 in 4A? do you have that?

Also how often are these reupdated? Alas would a loss to a state ranked kid drop you out?

A loss to a state ranked kid will drop you out if it happens at the state tournament. There is no BCS in wrestling and a KWCA ranking will not get you a seed at a tournament. A ranking is a way of saying, "hey, nice job so far, we think that you might do pretty well this year, good-luck!" They are also organized in order to create discussion amongst the wrestling community.

You worry too much. No, I do not have a top ten, it is hard enough maintaining a top 6. What I have is a data base of wrestlers that I have acquired from coaches and from looking on the Internet, that can move in and out depending on how they perform. Identifying the top six wrestlers out of the 61 4A schools that offer wrestling is virtually impossible, especially numbers 3-6 and I know that there are worthy athletes out there that may be over-looked. I do the best with the information that is made available to me.

Fortunately, these rankings have absolutely no baring on the state tournament, so I don't worry too much. I just want to get the kids recognized that have performed well to this point.

And yes, when kids don't perform up to their rankings, that opens the door for someone else to have their accomplishments recognized. If you are ranked fourth and you lose to number three, why would that change the rankings? It would appear to me that I had them right in the first place.

Now that certification has taken place and teams have full rosters, they will be updated every week late on Sunday nights after I have had time to check all the results from Cosmo's page and check my e-mails from coaches.

Thank you RedStorm and Cosmo - your efforts are greatly appreciated. I enjoy reviewing results and will provide dual information as I can. We should all help Cosmo with results, he is doing a fantastic job.

Thanks resslnfan

I enjoy maintaining the web site and I also appreciate the help I get from people sending me results, their effort helps me out a lot it keeps me from having to search through a bunch of newspapers looking for results.

Good Luck to everyone this weekend

I agree on the rankings and updates very good job. The rankings are fun to read, but keep in mind some schools don't rank guys... I could put at least 2 guys from Wamego in the rankings and maybe 2-3 from Chapman (1 for sure)

He's probably talking about Madison King and Chris Scheideman.

Yes, they are both excellent from what I hear can anyone give me any information on Scheideman. I recognize King from state last year. I know they've both wrestled Dawson and Riffel tough.

no, do you think you should still be ranked? I mean, you did lose to a freshman, and an Eastern Kansas freshman at that! Shame on you.

Coach DeWitt,

I saw Scheideman of Wamego face Riffel of Abilene in the finals at Herington. Scheideman has some high scoring offensive moves from neutral when his opponents don't block/stall. I have talked to a few refs who said they saw him hit some really powerful 5 point moves and just dominate through the match. I think he's a top 4 guy in my book.

Just to let you know, i really don't think Callahan from Osawatomie should be ranked 4th at 130 4A. He lost to an unranked guy from Rose Hill at Prarie View, and it wasn't like it was a fuke or anything..
