what was the toughest weight state wide in a single season ever in kansas? this years 171? 145 with johnson, pyle, drennan? 215 a couple years ago with lattimer, speer, weishaar, page, staab, sieler, carroll, hemmerling, bork, walker and all them guys? or was it a different one? what do you all think? i like the 215 a couple years ago.

119 last year with Gardner, Garcia, and Kriegbaum wasn't half bad either.

I was thinking the Heavyweights around 1998 or 1997 were just crazy in all divisions.

112 6a was hard this year with Jeb Woodford, Kelly Heinicker, Tommy Edgmon, and the dodge city kid

The toughest Weight Class has Got to be 189 or 215
All the little guy think there classes are hard but you dont have to wrestle a guy thats strong and quick. our guy are big and buff plus they got quickness. I give all props to whom wrestles theses classes

our guys at around 145 to 215 are strong and quick and when ur the weakest kid in the state like me you think your weight class is harder. Not taking anything away from 189 or 215 but were talking about quality of wrestler here not strength

112 was definatly harder because they had so many state champs and runner ups and places in their bracket that you had to be a stud to place in the top 6 and besides look at edgmon he is huge he could prolly kick the crap outta me

i would have to say that 189 is down this year. not counting ehert and butler. they are bad asses. just because you are strong doesn't mean that you are a good wrestler. our 189 pounder was tiny. he should have wrestled 160 but wouldn't be on varstiy at that or 171 so he went up to 189. weigh in days he would be 165 tops with all his clothes on. and he had a decent record. went to state and won a match. just because you are big doesnt' mean you are good, it just helps.

The 215 class of 2003 would have to be in the top 3, if not the toughest class in recent memory. If I am correct, I believe at least 3 of these wrestlers were all-americans. The weight class consisted of Carrol, Hemmerling, Prant Garker, Bork, Staab, Weishaar, Lattimer, Jhris Cennings, Page, Seiler, and Walker.

What a delicious grand state that would be. (With Jhris v. Prant being the finals match, of course.)

Hey Kris, why are you talkin' the smack, eh? I seem to recall winning every single award last night, and being voted a captain. Were you a recipient of anything? I'm afraid not. You are also talking the smack on Lee, which is TOTAL bunk. Lee and myself are buff fellas, fat, but buff none the less. We also placed top 3 at state. You did not. Stop talking. Also, change your name. You're not worthy of the letter switch.

I would say 132 weight class back in 1976. It had Mike Garcia from Newton (3X State Champ) later National Champ. Daryl Henning from Great Bend took 2nd, later a National Champ. Randy Maag took third and Weaver took 4th. This was the CKL League, Regional, and State finshes for that year. Daryl and Mike use to go to war in the finals and it was always great to see Maag, a Salina Central wrestler beat Weaver from Salina South.

so i don't care if i didn't win ne awards and i aint talkin smack on Lee if u remember i said i wasn't taking nething away from 189 and 215 so that means i still think they are good and hard weight classes i mean if lee loses to state champs and finalists thas pretty **** good i loose to everyone so i'm not saying i'm good or nething.

If you are gonna look the toughest weight classes in history one cant forget last year 4a 152. Ponce, Wiscombe, Strawn, Sharpe, Metcalf, Taplin, Buck and Frank. The guys in that bracket averaged a 28-5 record. I would have to say that is a hard one to beat.

was bedore in that weight too i think he won a his first state title that year so u can throw him in

3-2-1a 125..... heck 125 all class this year has to be mentioned

yes D-Lo you are 100% correct. the toughest weight class by far was definitely 125 in this years 3-2-1A state championships. Many talented wrestlers like Tyler Baker defending state champ, Levi Younkin defendig state champion, Dylan Loyd runner up from last year, Tait Weatherbee runner up from last year, Matt Warta previous state champ, John Kroeger and Curtis Black both very talented seniors and also Colby Monnington. Now that is a stacked weight class.
