Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Turner's Style of wrestling??

Would you really classify that as wrestling? Not all of you, some are actually good, but a lot of them are just dirty wrestlers. If they get in a predicimate, BAM sombody's oil gets checked. OR they start wrestling very unneccisary. And the officials don't say a thing. The few guys that don't wrestle disgustingly just plain suck. In the end, most of them need to learn how to wrestle and pull the finger out, that's just plain disgusting.

I am not sure exactly who you are referring to on our team. Most of the time,if at all, it is a butt drag, that's perfectly legal. On top of that you say the wrestlers that don't wrestle dirty just suck. I think there alot of quality wrestlers on our team that aren't dirty, that are successful with their style. If being agressive is dirty, then I am in the wrong sport, maybe its time I pick up a basketball.

Dude, it's not even you, you have been a consistantly good wrestler for ever, just a few guys on the team, you can't deny it. Look at the video tapes.

Well you stated "The ones that don't wrestle dirty just plain suck" I feel that includes me. I am part of the team, as well, being hungry and going for a move, if someone gets elbowed or headbutted you can't control that. Its all about explosion and agressiveness. You don't have time to think.

Yeah, but an intentional knee in the back (not you) or a forearm in the face (not you either) is not an accident.

I feel certain that if Turner didn't win tournaments this would not be an issue. No one talks about a bad team's "style." The fact is that if a team is going to be good they are going to have to get mean and do what it takes to win.

I love aggressive wrestling.

Sometimes I like to dig my knee in the middle or side of someones back when they are stalling on bottom. Does that make me dirty also?

Hmmmmmmmmmm, let's see now, knee in the back, forearm to the face, intentional not accidental, yep, sounds like wrestling! From your other posts, you must be Buck from Bonner. Read the other responses to your post and learn from them. You'd better take Dingbat's advice and grow some nards for state next weekend. If you think Turner wrestles dirty, you better prepare to get down and filthy in the colliseum. Or you can shower and go home (or take up basketball).

I will say that wrestling can get a little out of hand...I saw one guy get punched in the stomach and the ref didn't say a word...but I will agree with steinmetz171 that if it's too rough, there's always the basketball court. You either love it or you don't, and if it's your passion, you'll go through hell and high water for it. :p

well see how they do this weekend maybe 3rd or 4th sounds pretty good with a Kc team with all the guys their bringing.

I think it would be great if Turner does win state. And, as a matter of fact I am pulling for them too. I have no problem with the wrestling, because most of those boys are quality wrestlers, the forearm and the knee aren't a problem, checking oil is a discusting habbit, and some of them have turned it into a move. It's not a move, it's discusting. You don't hear me whining, I've only lost to one person from Turner in my career and it was fair and square to Billy Jones, I don't have any problem with any of them, but a few of them do need to clean up. Don't try to turn it around and say I am being a sissy. Oh, and this isn't the first time this whole "oil" thing has been brought up. It was taken to the state a couple of years ago and Turner wasn't even that good then. And I will say it again, most of those boys are quality wrestlers, and I haven't seen any of the good ones use this.

I sometimes check oil but I like to refer to it as a "butt drag" its really a successful move. Its not like they are tryin to see how far there fingers will fit up your rear its a move that is highly successful.

YEAH IF THEY WANT TO STALL,IT WILL SURE GET THEM TO MOVE........
