I would personally like to thank all the wrestlers, parents, friends and family that came to the Atchison Open and who helped us out, and worked too! We greatly appreciate all that you did!

Over 56 clubs from Kansas and Missouri were represented. We had alot of OUTSTANDING competition! We hope that everyone had a good time and got lots of mat time also.

I have sent to Mike Juby, the results of the individual wrestlers and the Team trophy!

Thanks again for coming to Atchison and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Tracey:

We really liked the competition this week at your tournament. It seems like the competition gets better every year. It was impressive seeing some of those tough teams from Missouri too like the Competitors, Park Hill, and the Northland team from the Park Hill South area. It is a good experience to go against tough teams from another State. Thanks for your hard work.

The tournament ran as smoothly as could be expected however, with only 5 mats it made for a long, long, long, long day. Perhaps a classroom or auxillary gym etc. could be used next year to allow for a significant decrease in time.
Having over 160 matches on one mat is too much.
All in all a good tournament despite the above.

Is Norman Ellis wrestling? I don't see him anywhere in the results for your tournament. I followed him last year as he wrestled my son. He was a very sound wrestler and an outstanding kid. Unfortunately he was in a weight class that was stacked with talent and didn't place at state. Hope he's still at it!
