I don't know that they will be the best. I haven't thought about it that much yet. I do know I looked at the brackets from last years state last spring and concluded that Emporia had the top returner or one of the top in several weights, so they should be in the running pretty heavy.
I think Manhatten only lost about three guys from their runner up team last year. They have something like 10 quailfiers back don't they? I think the only team in the state with more back would be Hoxie in 3A. Emporia will be good too. I don't know if they lost anyone? Someone let me know if I'm wrong.
Emporia lost 3 people that went to state last year and one of them placed 6th. I thought Manhatton lost a lot of people last year or at least a lot of there best wrestlers.
I believe Manhattan lost 5 seniors including probably the 4 best guys on the team, Matt Heerman, Ryan Moody, Nathan Wolf, and Jonathan Walter as well as Daniel Milligan
I don't know about 6A but I think that Bonner Springs should do well at 5A this year. They have 11 returning state qualifiers, and two state placers. They did have an easy regionals, but still 11 qualifiers returning is alot! They only lost 1 senoir from last year. Therefore I think that they have a good shot at placing in 5A state.
Manhattan may have lost 4 big places but gained one placer from out of town and also will have a stronger team than laster because of the experiance and team leadership
manhattan lost those ppl but put placers and qualifiers in the empty spots as well as people that are good enough to be varsity at most schools. they will be a major contender and are hungry after last years ending where manhattan should have won
