Boy I tell you, regionals was alot closer than I thought it would be, but once again hats off to Abilene for wrestling tough and winning regionals for the 5th year in a row!. Just as I predicted this regional was close. After looking at the results though it seemed like there was a lot of upsets and a lot of close matches. congratulations on your 6 qualifiers. clay center is taking 10 and scored 204.5 this weekend. I just wish that the other regionals would post their stuff.

Nigel, it's great to see you and all the other "old timers" so supportive of these younger guys. You have no idea what inspiration you guys are for them. Thanks.

I have to be supportive of our wrestlers. With the exception of Mr Christner himself I don't think any other person has more pride for our team. I am just glad that I get the opportunity to be our kids club coach and get our kids ready to wrestle in high school and continue what has already been built. I can't wait until next weekend to watch state and go back to the Colliseum for the first time in 2 years.

Oh and Chewie did make a good point. THe NCKL is really showing up so far. 3 teams from the NCKL finished 1,2,3 at their regionals, Abilene gets first, chapman goes 5th. So I can say that the NCKL will probably finish the state tournament with the most individual placers.

looks like NCKL qualified 37 total. The highlight of the BaeshorLinwood Regional looks like we had at least on NCKLer in every championship match except for maybe on weight.
Abilene and Chapman both did very well with all of their individuals in the championships winning the titles.
League breakdown to state: 10-clay 8-Marysville(Is anyone else slightly surprised?) 7-Concordia 6-Abilene 4-Chapman 2-wamego
Good job to all and hope to see you all at state.

marysville wrestled well at regionals. bussman wrestled well. their 135 lb freshman wrestled well. thoreson, pacha, and friedrichs wrestled well. and then vogelsberg beat weishaar by one if i remember right. just a side note some of the best matches of the tourney: dukes vs. ingenthron was really close. vogelsberg vs. weishaar. marrs vs. weishaar.

Excuse me BUT the only reason Abilien won was because of disquallifications. Last year Spring HIll would have if on of he wrestler hadn't have been disqualified for no reason!!! Abeliens wrestler should have been disqualified like the ref said he was!!! So in reality Abelien didn't win tehy had the rfs on there side. they should have one but oh well they won't win at state!!!

First of all wrestlingfanatic you need to learn how to spell it is ABILENE. And your right if our wrestler would've gotten dq'd we wouldn't have won but what about all the other what ifs. What if some of our guys won when they lost what if there guys lost when they won. Theres always what ifs. But i do understand your jealous. So i forgive you just try to be a little less ignorant next time.

I'm not at all jealus. Sorry I spelt Abiline wrong but I don't know how to spell it. The guy from Abiline should have been diqualified. everyone I talked to said he should have. His maners here totaly wrong. If he had been from where I live he would have been kicked out and escorted home. You are just jealus because your team can only win as a whole becuase of disqualifications by another team. it happend last year too. you guys only one by like 4 points or something like that. I'm not trying to be mean but I don't care what you think of me your can hate me I don't care. Just don't bad mouth any one or any one from My team. they are my guys and they get enooug bad stuff from the refs not being fair to them. WAY TO GO WRESTLERS.

wrestlingfanatic You still didnt spell ABILENE Right. You have no right to speek poorly of abilene. Abilene has not lost a duel in 5 years. They have won regionals 5 years in a row they have won sate back to back and have placed top 4 for the past 4 years. I dont know what team you are from but unless you are from Ark City i dont think your team can match abilenes recent accomplishment's. Like Nigel i to have a strong since of pride for my team. Good Luck to everyone at state next weekend

First of all i wasn't bad mouthing your wrestlers how could I don't even know where you are from. And i could care less of what you think of me too. I just simply said you were ignorant because i was stating the facts. And like Nigel said we're young so count on us to be back even stronger next year.
