I was venturing down to tennis practice today, when I stopped by to watch one of Manhattan's JV meets against Junction City, and I saw no other than Jason Butler in a heated battle with one of our tubby sophomores. Now, I'm pretty sure it was Jason Butler, but it was hard to tell through the lumberjack beard and massive mop.
Which brings me to my question- how many wrestlers play tennis? I know a bunch play baseball and do track and stuff (booooring...), but who's man enough to strap it on and bust out some singles and doubles action? I know Luedke plays the Man's Game, as well as myself, Butler, and Frandin. (I beat Frandin last year in doubles 8-0, word up.) Who else is tough enough?
I know I sucked at wrestling, but at tennis I am sooooooo mediocre and would kick the crap out of any of these three!

I've never really played tennis and I don't have any plans to soon.

Prant:
Just exactly what does one 'strap on' to play tennis? and is it legal in Kansas?

Prant, Even though I coach tennis, you could kick the holy poo out of me. I'm pretty sure I could still beat you in wrestling though which is all that really matters.
PS: where were you at Washburn Rural? I had to suffice looking at some guy with a propeller on his hat. Not near as funny as your ugly mug!

HA! That's Smail. Normally an a-hole, but on the tennis courts, he's quite hilarious. (Practices shirtless daily- he weighs about 270)
To answer your question and sound even LESS like a man, it's because I was at play practice. That's right. I said it. Play practice. I will begin competition next week, after our play is all said and done. (And man, I am SWEET. Violin, tennis, AND the spring play? Could I get any cooler? Oh yeah- 2nd in the spelling bee. Word up.)
Kale, I believe state is in Manhappiness this year. Don't know if that's just 6A or for all classes, but hopefully I'll get to whoop up on you in both tennis and wrestling at a meet somewhere.
And Luedke is mine.

Kale-- I somewhat remember from my stupor on Thursday night at nationals in KC that you said you coach tennis now. How is that working out for you? Is it everything you imagined? Grant and I will play you and any fool you can find in a doubles match. You will feel the power of my supreme backhand. Anyhoo, give me an email sometime. I lost your phone number. (dgp7575@ksu.edu). PEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAACCCCCCCEEEEEEE.....

p.s.-do you know how to get up with steve?

None of the older ones played to my knowledge, but I know Big Dave Coleman does. Dave is the youngest of 45 Colemans, and just picked up the sport. He doesn't wrestle, but he can tickle the ivories like no other, and he makes the ladies swoon with his guitar playing. Right now he's holding it down on JV, so expect big things.

Why don't you just go back to Modell School?
No one can equal my powers in Tecmo OR tennis. Whereas I was a perfect .500 on the wrestling mat, my Tecmo winning percentage is close to 1.000, and as of today I am undefeated in tennis.

Whatever, at the time that was posted I was a whopping 2-0. Spring play's over, Prant's hittin' the courts!
Of course, today I went 1-2. I'll just blame it on my doubles partner. (ahhh, the beauty of tennis.)
