Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School St. Mary's Tournament to be rescheduled?

I read on the results page the following:

St Marys TOURNAMENT 2-DAY 3PM / 10 AM canceled bc of weather/ will be made up at at later date


Ok if that's the case, won't the points participation system come into play? (assuming a team took another competition at the last second?) Also when would they be able to fit in the tournament with the time remaining?

The KSHSAA rule states:

"No student representing a member high school shall participate in more than 18 events and no more than 30 competitions points during a season, exclusive of the state championship series."

If a team did not schedule another event to replace the cancelled event, and the team / individual will be under the maximum point total, they may attend.

Experience has taught that making up a multiple team event such as a wrestling tournament is almost impossible. Those schools who were schduled to participate are now looking to "spend" , or have spent, their points with other matches/tournaments on the open dates they have still have available. It would be surprising to me if any of the schools who were to have participated in this tournament have any openings--dates or points--left for a rescheduled tournament.

I was told that the St. Marys tournament will be held on a smaller scale on Jan. 22 or Jan. 29
