Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Takedown Leauge April 21st-July 14th

The Norton Summer Takedown Leauge will be starting Sunday April 21st and run through July 14th. Cost is $30.00 for the whole summer and USA Card. Registration is at 3:00 pm. and Wrestling starts at 3:30 pm. We will be done by 5:00 pm. most all of the time. Last year we had over 50 kids participate from Ks. and Ne. We expect more in this 2nd season.

Yeah I was just wondering when that tournament in Norton was. I can't remember when you told me it was. May 4th I think.

Norton Freestyle Tourn. is Sat. May 4th.

What does this takedown league consist of. I can't get the hit point to download

Wrestlers pay a $30.00 fee and meet on Sunday afternoons and basicly wrestle a round robin takedown tournament. The best 2 out of 3 takedowns wins a match. Some matches last 20 sec. others go the entire Max. of 5 min. At this point we wrestle a College overtime tiebreaker.

The Takedown League runs all-summer long and gives kids another options to Freestyle and Greco tournaments. Many wrestlers want to stay with the sport throughout the summer but for many reasons do not want to travel many hours to compete.

The Summer Takedown League allows kids to compete at the local level without having to be in tip-top shape, and for some they do not have to travel 5 hours just to wrestle two matches.

This is absolutely a great idea.Take it this is held at norton highschool.

Yes, it is held at Norton's Wrestling room every Sunday (we keep two full mats out all summer)

I was not very specific on the details, but the $30 fee is good for the entire summer.
