Be patient, they have finalized most of it but there are some injuries and some final things to take care of and it should be announced in the next couple of days if not today. Its coming.

I was wondering if they were going to try and get Bogart SMS and Roath Washington both in there, just make 1 of them pull the weight?

The line-up is in today's KC Star. I see we omitted George Roath, State Champion, and opted for a kid who got 4th. Not to take anything away from the Sabetha kid, but exactly what did we need to do to get him in there? Yes, he was nominated, Yes he is Wyandotte County's only State Champion, Yes, the Classic is held in Wyandotte County, Yes, I am upset! Did we get asked......NO!

I agree Roath should be in the classic. He a good wrestler, a state champion and he lives right here in Kansas City KS. At state Roath pinned his way to the finals. What an oversight!!!

Pyle didnt do to much lol 4 time state placer first as a freshman first as a sophomore third as a junior losing to Drennan fourth as a senior losing to Johnson and Englebert
If he would have had better competition during the season may have done better at state, not taking anything awa from Johnson or Englebert but before state didnt have any one take him to the second period so I have heard.

Pyle is a two timer and four time placer, and his losses were to other state champs in the toughest weight class in any of the state tourneys he is no slouch and neither is Roath for sure. Lattimer of Fort Scott is wrestling instead of Buck. Buck has a seperated shoulder that occurred during the state tourney.

Don't twist my comment I never mentioned Pyle in them. Take my post for as one-sided as they are. Basically I'm sayin this is the METRO i mean METRO Classic. We have a true kids right here in the METRO who is a State Champion. This is in no way shape or form a put down on Pyle. PERIOD

Quite a few times Travis. I like Roath a lot and he did a great job but if you want to be real honest about it the weight wasn't awfully difficult and he beat a freshman with 10 losses in the finals. Pyle won two state championships already, placed four times, has a win over the two timer that beat him a year ago, got beat by a state champion at the state tourney, it just comes down to situations and matchups. That takes nothing away from Roath he did a magnificent job, I am just saying those are the things that factor into it. Pyle is a heck of a wrestler. I think he only has about five losses in his life.

In 2001 Jimmy Vogel of Bonner Springs won state and was not chosen to compete in the metro classic.

The rule is they have to be from within 75 miles as the crow flies from the Juco. Sabetha is 68. We have had a Sabetha wrestler before in the classic. They have had a Knob Knoster kid before in the Classic.
